Ciao a tutti, sono Sara e l'anno scorso ho passato un mese a Beirut, dove ho incontrato Bashar. 

Bashar è un ragazzo con un sorriso coinvolgente e una grinta da vendere. È difficile non stargli intorno. Lui è siriano/turco ma con il conflitto in Siria è stato costretto a lasciare il suo paese e a trasferirsi in Libano, portando con sé ferite indelebili. Li, infatti, ha visto violentare ed uccidere la sua amata e sua sorella dall'Isis. A guardarlo oggi però è faticoso capacitarsi che un sorriso così possa velare così tante atrocità.

Purtroppo, pochi mesi fa gli è stato diagnosticato un tumore al cervello. Gli avevano dato poche settimane di vita, ma la sua tenacia e la sua voglia di rivincita gli hanno permesso di continuare per le strade di Beirut o nei campi profughi ad aiutare gli altri, fondando anche la sua associazione per promuovere lo sviluppo educativo e ambientale per i bambini rifugiati.

Ora però la sua situazione si sta aggravando, l'infezione del sangue, I continui controlli e il pensiero di dover affrontare un'operazione che non può permettersi a causa dell'alto costo della sanità libanese.

Bashar ha bisogno di essere curato al più presto. Per questo chiedo a tutti voi di firmare affinché le Istituzioni italiane lo accolgano per permettergli di curarsi. 

Mi ricordo delle volte in cui siamo andati nei campi profughi siriani in Libano a portare libri di inglese ai bambini, o di quella volta in cui è riuscito a raccogliere più di 5000 giocattoli da donare a quei bambini, cercando di regalare loro un respiro di normalità.

Bashar è un angelo che ha aiutato tanto gli altri.

E' arrivato il momento di aiutare lui, è arrivato il momento di dargli la speranza di una nuova vita affinché possa continuare a toccare positivamente tutte le vite delle persone che incontra, come ha sempre fatto e come continuerà a fare se il nostro paese gli darà questa opportunità. 

Per questo, io, Sara, ho deciso di provare a fare qualcosa insieme a voi anche qui dall'Italia, facendogli sentire il nostro supporto e il nostro amore e dandogli coraggio per affrontare quest'ennesima sfida.

Hi everyone, I'm Sara, and last year I spent a month in Beirut, where I met Bashar. Bashar is a guy with an engaging smile and grit to spare. It's hard not to be around him. He is Syrian/Turkish, but with the conflict in Syria, he was forced to leave his country and move to Lebanon, bringing with him indelible wounds. There, he witnessed his beloved and his sister being raped and killed by Isis. Looking at him today, however, it is hard to understand that a smile like this can veil so many atrocities.

Sadly, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor a few months ago. They had given him a few weeks to live. Still, his tenacity and desire for revenge allowed him to continue on the streets of Beirut or in the refugee camps to help others. He also founded his association to promote educational and environmental development for refugee children.

But now his situation is getting worse, the blood infection, the tests, and the thought of facing an operation he can't afford. 

Bashar needs to be treated as soon as possible. This is why I ask you all to sign so that the Italian institutions welcome him to allow him to be treated.

I remember when we went to Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon to bring English books to the children or when he collected more than 5,000 toys to give to those children, trying to provide them with a breath of normality.

Bashar is an angel who has helped others so much. The time has come to help him. The time has come to give him hope for a new life so that he can continue to positively touch all the lives of the people he meets, as he always has and will continue to do if our country gives him this opportunity.

For this reason, I, Sara, have decided to try to do something with you here from Italy, making them feel our support and love and giving them the courage to face this latest challenge.
